White House Confirms Termination of Election Assistance Commission Members

There are currently no members on the commission.

The White House confirmed that President Trump released the remaining members of the Election Assistance Commission last week.

“The President, and head of the Executive Branch, reserves the right to remove individuals that may not be totally aligned with the important task of securing America’s elections and ensuring every legal vote is counted,” the White House stated.

Referring to the Supreme Court decision that supported the president’s authority to remove Federal Trade Commission members, the administration official continued, “The Slaughter decision gives the President precedence to do so.”

The White House official added, “The Administration from the start has been working across all agencies and local partners to safeguard elections from fraud and abuse, and investing in a strong infrastructure to sustain that mission, especially in the midterm elections.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for President Trump and members of his administration as they seek to ensure election integrity ahead of the midterms in November.
  • For the president and his Cabinet officials to be led by the Lord in their actions on election security.
  • For federal justices and judges to be prudent in their decisions regarding election laws and their interpretation.
